Overview of present Bari:
Presently, Bari is recognized as a modern industrial city. Nonetheless, some of Italy's most interesting and virgin areas exist within the province of Bari and the region of Puglia. The people of the city are proud of their origin and hard-working by nature, mostly working in the port. Saint Nicholas is still a respected figure who, as the patron of foreigners, created a sense of liberalism amongst its residents. Bari is quite popular within the boundaries of the country for its strong, often crude, spoken dialect, particularly in the Old Town and for its traditional cuisines. The city is also known for one of the top universities in the country - University of Bari. A tour to Bari will not be complete without visiting the following places:
Landmarks of Bari:
- Castello Svevo
- Nazario Sauro promenade
- Ruins of Egnatia
- Cattedrale
- Museo Jatta
- Castel del Monte
- Pomarici San Tomasi
- Madonna della Scala

Bari International Airport is an important location approximately 5 miles away from the center of the city. All the international airlines as well as domestic airlines operate from here.
